The Seltos is raking in the moolah for Kia Motors India and is defying the slowdown in the India Auto market. Bookings for the compact SUV have crossed the 1 lakh mark and is growing stronger. Maximum demand is for the top variants.
The Seltos made its debut in India in August 2019 and has been on a roller coaster ride, since then. The compact SUV has seen phenomenal numbers being booked, when compared to its competitors during the same period. With 30,000 pre-bookings ahead of its launch, it sure made news even before it was introduced. The Korean manufacturer is riding on its success and is all geared up to launch their second offering, the Kia Carnival, in the country.
Much demand for the Seltos is for the top variants, GTX+, HTX and the HTX+ versions and there has been a rise in the numbers for the diesel variants too. The Seltos is offered in 3 engine variants with both manual and AMT options. Looks like the manufacturer had done their research for India, pretty well. The car currently has a waiting period of approx. 3 months.
The Seltos was first launched in India, after its global debut and is yet to make its presence felt in the US market. The compact SUV comes with either a BS6-compliant 1.5-liter petrol and diesel engine or a BS6-compliant 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol engine, as option, mated to either a 6-speed manual, IVT automatic, CVT or a 7-speed DCT unit. Prices for the car are soon going to change, as there will be an increase, soon.
